I mentioned only 3 differnt acceptance marks on the LP08 stocks. They are: C/G, C/H and C/S. Did anyone have seen another? Some screws on the attaching iron are also with inpector marks. It should be possible with help of the serialnumbers to check if these are with 1914 Erfurt. So I need a little help from you!!!!! Klaus
By the way please mention the unusual screws at the stock with C/H. They are brass. I have never seen another one.
I have another Erfurt stock that is with the matching original pistol. It does not have the stamped screws and the stock is stamped Crown/G. The serial number on the stock is stamped 5865 and the pistol 5865a.
Klaus said "Jan, what´s about the screws with the attaching iron?
The gun was sent to me to photograph and was long ago returned. The only information is in the photographs shown on page 117 of Central Powers Pistols. Jan
Unit markings on the DWM 1917 LP08. Serial number 6237m
Same unit markings on the stock iron which is not serial numbered to the pistol.
The stock iron is serial numbered 5411h.
Unusual!
I have a Crown/G with 4 brass screws & washers.The stock has 1920 stamped on it on
the left side and Germany stamped on the right side. The stock iron is not numbered.
Thanks George
Klaus,
My 1917 DWM LP.08 rig SN: 1657b has brass washers & screws with no marks on them. The acceptance mark is lightly struck and appears to be a 4 lobe crown over a large "S". The "S" is correct. Best to you. Dave L.
Were the stocks with a Crown/G used only with the Erfurt Artillery?
