    Default BROWNING 1922, YUGOSLAVIAN

    BROWNING 1922, YUGOSLAVIAN
Yugoslavia purchased the FN M1922 from Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium, from 1923 to the late 1930's. These are in 9mm Kurz and were stamped with the Yugoslavian crest. About 60,000 were delivered.(Vanderlinden, page 134-137). In 1941, the Axis forces attacked and occupied Yugoslavia within two weeks. The 1922 Browning’s captured as a result of this occupation were used by the German Army and her allies. The German designation for the captured Yugoslavia Browning 1922 is 641 (j). The (j) signifies Yugoslavia. (Axis Pistols page 101-103)

Beautiful pistol. Wasn't it the Yugoslavian contract that created the extended barrelled M1922, or was it Hungary?
