I FOUND A 1909 STEYR 7.65 PISTOL W AUSTRIAN MARK (Lw/EAGLE14-- serial #3100x) this past weekend at the NGD show in Louisville Ky. JAN--How many examples have been reported? All the ones I've seen (3) have been in excellent shape. There are 2 police variations (w & w/o a lanyard ring). I've never seen one w/o a lanyard ring.

Hi Darrell,
another excellent find, my congratulations! You probably know that, but the Vienna Arsenal accepted about 7500 of these pistols in 1914.
Best regards,

How do you know that 7500 were accepted in 1914? I have not run across any referances to this pistol except for Jan's. I have another marked 1912.

The actual number procured is 7450. The new information will be presented in CENTRAL POWERS PISTOLS. The information is from 1914 dated arsenal records.

In the first picture shows the only 2 differances I was able to descern. The safety knob is larger on earlier numbers. The large safety is from #32655 and the smaller from #31000. The #32655 has brown grips.
