I need some help with this proof mark. Only one on the gun aside from DWM and serial number which looks to have bee messed with. 30 Luger cal. All information appreciated, Thanks for your time...Bill
Yes, it could be a Cyrillic letter; but coupled with the serial stamping being a little strange too- I'll stay with stamping error - maybe by a Russian bubba.
It could be a stylized bird like the 'eagle' seen on several nation's proofs. The 'N' is cyrillic as Norm suggested and Pavlov confirmed. However the center '9' of the SN looks like an over-stamped fake. Comrade Boris Bubba's work?
