Saw this and at first thought wow! Then looked closer and thought the finish looked a bit off from the hot salt blue that is normally found on these at this point in production. Anyone else have an opinion?
Burgess, I agree I am thinking that it should be "high polish" or like you said "mirror finish" with the hot salt finish. Perhaps in hand would help but there are more pictures in the listing....all angles appear to be more of a matte finish.
It should be more black. When these are put side by side on table, it's very easy to tell the finish difference. But in an alone picture, could be related with camera, background and lighting condition.. For example, the Norinco T54 in the picture is also salt blued, same camera, but it's not that black due to the lighting condition. Same for the M1930, it's a salt blued, same appearance as at pocket Mauser, but it looks lighter color on picture. Just on pictures though, those salt blued guns look same in hands. The seller has 3-day inspection.
