    Default 1911 Erfurt Unit Marked

An early Erfurt luger. All numbers are matching including grips. Still experimenting on pictures. Will post inside of grips and internal parts pictures when I take them.

You have a beautiful unit marked 1911 Erfurt with a matching mag. There is a halo around one of the barrel gauge digits and the hold open added pin is the white. Both tend to indicate that it is in original condition. It is unit marked to a munitions column for a howitzer.

    1911 ERFURT, sn 6953: 14.A.F.II.4.H.6. - (14 Fuss-Artillerie-Regiment, Bataillon II, 4 Munitionskolonne, Haubitzen, Waffe Nr. 6)

    Thanks for posting.

Thanks Jan. I will gather up the proof mark information for your survey and submit. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time when an elderly gentleman who owned this for a long time decided it was time to let somebody else admire this luger. Thanks again Jan for providing a wonderful site to learn about these guns and their history.

Very nice photos of your unit marked Erfurt. Thankyou for taking the time to post all the photos.

Your luger is very nice with everything appearing correct, the magazine follower button for you information has the flattened checkering that is characteristic of the Erfurt magazine, had this been DWM this button would have had sharp points on the checkering.

Also on your magazine to note is that the serial digits are small and across the base, if this was DWM they would have been down the base in larger letters.

Just a few tidbits to verify original Erfurt magazines in case you did not know.

Your luger and Dwight Grubers like marked Imperial unit marked luger would make a handsome photo shoot or an display together.

    lugerlou,
I was wondering what is your opinion on this magazine that came off my Erfurt. The checkering on the knob appears to be for a DWM.
