Pete,
You may add AM (with possible 3rd letter) to the list. Thanks for the compliment. I didn't realize it was worth sooo much until I seen the one on Simpson's. Bill |

The RIA Museum folks seem to indicate they support research projects...
http://www.riamwr.com/museum.htm Maybe a Member near the Museum would have interest in researching their records/archives to see if we can find out names of inspectors employed during the TE years...???... Any volunteers ???

Pete,
I cleaned the holster with Connolly's Hide Care and believe it or not the third letter can now be recognized - AMD Again, thanks for your interest on the stamping. Bill |

Bill,
Thanks! That unknown letter was like an itch you can't scratch. Glad that is resolved.

Collector Chuck Whittaker (on his Land of Borchardt web site) has two (2) different TE holsters shown in the "Holster" section of the web site.
Both of the photos appear to show no initials on the front flap of either of these holsters...so it appears we have some that did not get further initialed on the flap front...

It appears to be left sided. The ammunition was harder to find than th gun!

Eric,
Your holster is a right-handed one. The TE were carried on the right side...with the "butt" of the gun facing forward. Such a holster could also be worn on the left side...but then the "butt" of the gun would face rearward. BTW...for an American TE gun, wouldn't an American-made brand of ammo be more period-correct ?
