Default Gunbroker

I emailed the seller for more pics and asked what the date over the chamber was.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=145147190

He said he didn't have any more pics and that the date was 1934.

I think I know what is going on, how 'bout you guys?

RUN AWAY!!
a NR seller selling 2 high end guns and he can't take more pics for you?
the first thing i ask for is another picture, of some weird part of the gun. If they can' get the picture they probably don't have the gun.
I'll ask him about the broomhandle and let you know.
tom

here's the email i sent him;
hi, nice mauser! what's the serial # (first 2 numbers are enough), i want to check when it was made. also, can you show me a picture of the underside of the left grip?
thanks
tom

There are a lot more of these NR guys listing high dollar items these days. SCARY. I ran into one a few months ago who offered an off auction sale after I did not meet his reserve. Then he emailed three times, dropping the price each time. I got the feeling it may have been a "hot" deal.

The "AS IS" provision is also a red light.

follow up:
i've rec'd 3 emails from the seller explaining why he can't get me more pics of the gun. he asked me what i was looking for under the grip, and then said he looked under there and there wasn't anything there. but no mention of sending me a picture. he did tell me he first 2 #'s of the ser# are 85. ( i don't know anything about serial #'s on these, so...)
i buy and sell on gunbroker, i'm going to alert admin about this guy, but until he rips someone off, he'll be allowed to continue to post.
please let other members here know to be careful with these auctions/seller.

The extra mag in the picture of the luger is a later hanel produced mag not correct for a 1936 s/42 luger the holster looks to be a 1939 date if that bothers anyone. The C/96 blue looks to dark for a 1930 comercial but that could be the lighting. The C/96 grips look to light in color and appear to overhag the frame in the large picture, a question to ask is If the stock has the mauser banner stamped in it.

First no offense, just the other side of the coin.

As a seller on gunbroker, I think its humerous how so many guys judge folks ; whether they have a fuzzy picture (must be hiding something; no, I ****ed that picture up, but included it); or they don't explain a marking; they must be hiding something. They have no numbers by their name (maybe they are a rip off artist, maybe they are new?)

As a seller you get these requests for extra pictures and weird'os. ;>)

I guess I am a bad seller and you should stay away from me; because I see so many folks (mainly from ebay) who fish for more info and then never bid on the item. It gets very old, so I usually answer their questions quickly and ask what they are looking for in the picture?

I personally don't like being screwed with and some folks seem to ask questions that appear to me to be just silly.

I know, I am odd man out here...

Ed you make a very valid point, as there is always two sides of the coin to everything. I have bought only one thing off a enternet auction site. and It was a bad experience to say the least so i have been just reling on trusted dealers I know, and I know that Is probably a mistake and way to conserative. I am sure ther are many Honest sellers like yourself. Its just the fear of a dishonest one that gets to people I think. By the way I do feel that no buyer should ask for extra info on anything unless they are prepared to by. Josh
