Default Any thoughts on what this holster is?

I saw this on ebay:

thought it might be of interest to discuss. Is this a production piece, or modified in some way?

Regards,
Kelly

Kelly,

It is a production police holster that has been modified. The bucket has been cut down , or "Cowboy'd" for easier access to the pistol.

Interesting holster. Obviously, this comes out of the props room of the DEFA:

Quote:
Deutsche Film-Aktiengesellschaft, better known as DEFA, was the public-owned film studio in the German Democratic Republic throughout that country's history.

DEFA’s logo is shown on the German version:

Martin,

It's a movie prop from the DDR? That's is interesting.

Thanks...

Unless my eyes fool me there is no sign of a tool pouch present at any point in time. The size of the bucket top reminds me of holsters original to the Walther #6 modified for P08's in police service. Any help out there?
