It should be nolted that the leather holster has been removed from the stock. (This occured on many of the Finnish shoulder stocks.) The following images show how the holster was used.

Finnish Shoulder Holster made from the holsters removed from the board stocks. Shoulder straps were added to the holster.

(Please note that some of the holsters were converted to belt holsters.)

Comparison of "SA" markings.

I have seen the "SA" markings either on the right side of the slide, the left side of the slide and on the left trigger guard.

For the purpose of comparing the "SA" markings used on the Finnish Hi-Powers, I have taken the liberty of making a copy of the Finnish Hi-Power image posted by Jan Still on 9/18/03.

The "SA" marking on serial no. 13647 is on the right side of the slide. Note the (larger) size of the "SA" marking. Note also the "T" to the right of the "SA" marking.

The "SA" marking on serial no. 12107 (Jan's Hi-Power) is on the left side of the trigger guard. Note the size of the "SA" marking and the fact that there are no other markings.

(For reference, the "SA" marking that I have seen on the left side of the slide are the same size as the one on the trigger guard and without any other marking.)

It is clear that two different dies were used for affixing the "SA" markings to the Finnish Hi-Powers.

I do not know the meaning of the "T" on serial no. 13647 and am hoping that some one can give the meaning of this marking.

Regarding the T marking. There are others who can give a better answer but until they do I will share the little information that I have. The T stampis found on slings and other items too. From what I remember being told the T may be a Civil Guard marking.

BTW, Thanks for sharing a very neat set of items from your collection. I hope to someday add some Finnish marked FN pistols to my collection.

T = Taisteluväline = Ordnance (department of Finnish Army)

Very nice pistols. Most Finnish issued FN HP (or "9,00 Pistol M/35 FN" as they were known by Finnish military) I have seen in here have been quite worn, but the ones you have seem to be in excellent shape.

But Thank you for sharing the photos Charlie., excellent example.

I realise this is an old post, and might not get a reply.
I am on the hunt for one although prices recently have spiked.
I understand that there was a contract for High power pistols for Finland. Are all SA marked high powers part of the contract?
Or were there other high powers that found their way to the Finnish armoury?

Thanks again
Godwin
