I met Lee several times at the CMP games in Camp Butner North Carolina.

He was always generous with his time, especially with children. It was also fun to be with him when he shot competition.

His position on gun rights cost him work in Hollywood, and we should honor his memory as a great American patriot.

Although, I never met R. Lee Ermey, I felt that I knew this man. My D.I. could have been his brother. They even looked alike. The first time I saw Full Metal Jacket, I had the strange feeling that I had been drafted again and was back in basic. Almost every scene in that movie touched memory.

Rest in Peace, R. Lee
