I have a small loop all steel cleaning rod (type found in K date holsters ) with WaA 296 stamp. I am wondering
what this particular stamp refers to ( manufacturer, etc ) or what?
Thanks, Dennis
A few pictures would shed some light on what you have. Would really like to see a clear picture of the WaA296 waffenamp. If it is indeed a E/WaA296, that marking would be inconsistent with an original cleaning rod for a K date holster. E/296 maybe correct but we will never know without pictures. The small loop you describe would also be inconsistent for a K date holster as the leather strap securing the rod in the holster would require a wide rectangular loop. Looking forward to see what you have!
Currently I use Dewey rods, but will probably pick up a Hoppe's rod just because I've heard such good things about them here https://cleangunguide.com/best-gun-cleaning-rod-reviews/. So many guys swear by them, so I think I will be pleased if I try them.
WaA 296 may be legitimate, but Bender does not have 296 in his list. Pics
are necessary.
All, be well,
rc
