I was lucky to snag this little beauty about a week ago.
Beautiful silver engraved in floral motif Astra 200 which(according to wonderful Astra book by Leonardo Antaris) was part of a very late order by German Condor Legion in May of 1939, as they were winding down their operations in Spanish Civil War. It came with a very interesting soft leather holster that appears to have been made specifically for this particular gun. An original capture paper completes this rare ensemble. The markings on the grip safety is for the ordering Condor legion # 3 with F88 marking signifying Flakabteilung 88(anti-aircraft battalion) of Kampfgrouppe 88.
The grips appear to have been made from lucite - an early type of plastic.
I love the Art Deco style Astra logo on them.
Despite an extensive internet search, I could not find a similarly engraved prewar gun pictured anywhere.
Enjoy!
