Hello, everyone.
I was wondering if there is price premium for a unaltered 1906 Navy vs the altered one. Assuming same condition - let’s say 97-98%.
Thanks!
Since they are somewhat harder to find than 1906 1st Altered I would say that both 1906 1st Unaltered and 1906 2nd Issue would be worth a premium of about 10%. Remember though, at the end of the day condition is everything.

May I add, yes indeed, and probably not an inconsequential premium. I am not a reliable source for how much, but I know that members Norme and m1903a3 could provide a realistic estimate.

I'm even later to the party, but I also agree with Norm. A true 98% unaltered 1906 is a rare bird indeed. The pistol itself isn't all that rare, but very few are 98%.
Another thing to keep in mind Val, is that a "GERMANY" export mark would more than offset any extra value that an unaltered safety would add.

Hi Val,
In the unlikely event that I would ever have to choose between two otherwise identical guns, one "GERMANY" marked and the other importer marked, I think I would opt for the first.
