    Default Help with FXO magazine

    Hi,

I recently aquired a 41 BYF and it came with this magazine. Would it be correct for the pistol? I appreciate any help or information. I only dabble in WWII pistols and this is my second Luger. The first is a non matching S/42 shooter.

    Cheers

A bakelite base "fxo" Haneal Schmeisser magazine would be correct for a 1941 Mauser Luger. The base would not be numbered. "104" was stamped at some time after it left the factory.

Thank you. The “104” would be serialized to another pistol or a different designation?

104 should not be on there for any reason. Bubba did it. It's now ruined.

Guess I’ll use it for my shooter grade and find an unmarked one.

Serial number 2317q is earlier 1941 production when Lugers were issued two matching magazines. The black plastic fxo is a good and correct replacement. Your magazine still has value even with the 104.

I have byf41 2835q and the factory, extra magazine is serialized, aluminum bottom. Your luger was made just before mine. Either a serialized aluminum bottom magazine or a black plastic bottom magazine is generally considered correct for byf41 and byf42 lugers, more so for the byf42 lugers.
