Default potential first luger P08 artillery gun buy

Hello, thanks for those who sponsor this form, lots of information. As I have titled it, I have the opportunity to purchase a Luger P08 artillery gun. I know most of the numbers match. There is a little bit of rust all over it. Manufacturer is DWM. Under the safety switch is "GESICHERT". Magazine is an FXO Bakelite Bottom from the 1940-1945 which has some damage. The barrel is 8" long. There are a few parts missing like a holster, cleaning rod, stock, and adjustment tool. I'm just trying to find out information about the gun and see what it would be worth? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

looks like someone heavily buffed it prior to refinishing it. Some of the numbers and proofs are nearly gone. Artilleries are cool in any form, though...Bill

If it shoots and that's what you're buying it for, then go for it, but don't pay more than 600 bucks, it has no collector value.

Assembled from various parts, and heavily refinished.
Listen to Harry; but it may be worth a few more $, maybe $800.

The barrel flange looks almost like there is a gap between it and the receiver.

If this is the case, I'd stay away from it completely.

Definitly looks that way to me, seems to be at least a couple millimeters of a gap.

YIKES! Put the pistol down gently and back away. It's Pandora's box. DON'T open the lid! Everywhere I look Bubba has somehow monkeyed with this. It's ugly AND dangerous. Best to look elsewhere.

I guess I am missing what you are seeing. Could you point it out more clearly?

Where the barrel flange meets the frame. It should be tight, flush. This barrel appears to be unscrewed at least one turn. Look at the 4th picture in.
