Looks like a Police unit mark S.B. Schutzpolizei Berlin. The cursive letter which looks like a P I'm not sure. Interesting to find these markings on a LPO8.
This is a unique marking. I agree with Dow that it is probably from Berlin, likely a Sipo marking from before they were merged into the Schupo in 1920. However I don't recall ever seeing a cursive letter used to designate a Police Group in Berlin, if that is what it is. There are no later replacement markings suggesting the gun was not used past about 1920-22.
