if somebody help me identify any Nfo about this my beauty im gonna happy... all parts passed the same serial...also magazine is original... grips original ..... weapon works perfect
You have a somewhat early a-suffix pistol, built under German occupation during the middle months of 1943. There were 100,000 a-suffix pistols, so it is not rare. The black plastic grips were starting to be replaced by the wooden grips shortly after the time your pistol was built.
thx for info...isnt that number low? if i try look on picture i see max over 80 000 serial...not so low like this one is...is there any chance to find any info about gun history from serial? etc by FN or Browning...or some archive...
Approx 400,000+ FN1922s were manufactured under German Occupation. This one about mid-way through their serials produced. German manufactured 1922s ended around the mid-"C" block.
Welcome to the forum! The information you received is accurate. your gun is probably in the mid point of production so actually not a "low" overall number as you inquired about just an early "a" suffix gun. The serial numbering for these FN's are crazy. but there was a reason for the madness. They started with the serial number around 288,000 with the captured guns from The Dutch. the Waa140 waffenamt guns actually started with serial number 57,000 and went as high as 220,000 before the started over with the "a" suffix in May of 1943. So your gun being an early "a" suffix would probably date it around the end of May early June time frame for production. as Martin suggested, there is not anyway to determine the actual history of the gun past the fact of the approximate date it was manufactured and that it went to the German Military. Your gun does however bear some of the other changes that were introduced at the time. The flanges on the trigger were removed to the flat style as yours. The fit and finish also degraded under the letter productions. This information is from Anthony Vanderlinden's, FN Browning Pistols. a wealth of information if you intend to collect more of them.
