    POLICE BANNER DATA REQUEST
    I am in the process of updating Third Reich Lugers and would appreciate the following police banner information. For background see Third Reich Lugers pages 146-147.
    Thanks Jan
    1. Serial number with suffix: the suffix ranges from “v”, “w”, “x”, and “y”.
    2. Chamber date (these range from “1938", “1939", “1941", “1942" and “41" and “42".). Note: if small, medium or large date.
    3. Police stamp: “E/K” or “E/F” or “E/C” or “E/L”.
    4. Commercial Proof: C/U or E/N.
    5. Grips: numbered or not.
    6. Sear safety present or not. Was the sear safety drilled for and not installed?
    7. Military acceptance stamp and location: such as E/6
    8. Matching magazine: crimped or extruded (see pages 171-172 Third Reich Lugers for description details) and details of base markings (numbered 1 or 2 or 3)
    9. (Added Oct 8, 2007) Barrel serial number, gauge, or other barrel markings?

    Jan, Some of my Banner police data:

    I currently own Sn 7379y, 1942 medium size date, E/L, E/N, grips unnumbered, sear safety installed, matching magazine is type 3 with no case markings and convex pin and sn on base along with number 1.

    I have owned in the past the following 2:

    Sn 1555y, 1941 large date, E/L, E/N, numbered grips (last two digits), sear safety installed, non matching mag.

    Sn 185x, 1939, E/L, C/U, Sear safety installed, matching type 2 magazine with sn & suffix and 1 with + ( no army proof on base)

    I have two more I have to get out and will post the info.

    Hello Jan - I have sn 6813x, 1941 small date, E/L, E/N, grip not numbered but E/655 marked, sear safety present, no military acceptance, matching mag crimped with number 1 and full sn.
