    I only have a few Lugers but I really like this one alot.

    Jan,
    Thanks for the outstanding (as usual) presentation of 1939 Mauser Lugers. One thing I've just noticed about my fathers 1939 E/L Banner bringback is that there are no stamps what so ever on the barrel except the witness mark. I can't imagine a replacement barrel would have been necessary.

    Yes, there is a CC/U on the front of the barrel.

    Yours barrel has the commercial proof. The barrel serial number is often absent. The barrel gauge (8,81-8,85) on the bottom of the barrel is sometimes present. A police banner with only the CC/U on the barrel front is proper.
