    Jan,
    Great illustration of Mauser letter suffixes.
    There is another recognized w suffix that is seen on the 1940 Banner Swedish. It is obscured in nature. It was discussed on the old forum by Joop.

    Here is the thread with pictures. It is worth noting as I have seen a few of these Banners advertised as u suffix which is incorrect.

    Looks to me like a "U" with the bottom part of the stamp missing. I don't see anything else that fits.
