Default To re-barrel or not re-barrel....what are the options?

If a barrel is shot out or does only generate keyholes or is just not doing it anymore...what are the options?
In this case a 9mm 1940 Mauser 42 code Luger.

Re-barreling is one option, is there something like re-lining? I mean like renewing existing lands and grooves or such?
I am not a gunsmith so help me out here as well as with the correct technical terms.

    Thanks

    Hi Hans,
Since it sounds like a "shooter" (of no interest to collectors), you might as well make it a good shooter. Have a new barrel installed by a reputable gunsmith.
    Regards, Norm
