    lauchlin... Welcome to the Forum. LTP stands for Late Test Proof. Mauser pistols had three different test proof stamps which are located on the R/H side of the receiver and on the barrel. Some refer to them as 1, 2, and 3.

    Jan... Observed another 1940-42 Code at OGCA over the weekend that belongs in this study. SN was 4478h and it had Type 1 (HK) black grips.

    Jan... Thanks to member ac4142 we can add 1940 42 Code 3099h to the list. It has the Type 1 (HK) grips.

    Jan... Observed 1940 42 code 7037g which had coarse brown HK grips.

    Recently observed and was allowed to get some pics of grips, at least one side screw would not budge on other side, 1940 42 matching 6335g brown plastic grips. Regards GR

    I have my Great Grandpas WWII bring back 1940 42 code sn 7339 no suffix and it has the type 5 black grips.

    Robin......It appears that they are Type 6 grips due to the wider keeper on the R/H side of the R/H grip. May I include your pistol in the Black Grip study ?

    5906g has Krieghoff brown grips.
