    Jan,

    I had a 1937 S/42 #3771t, almost all matching, DE63, DE63, MTP, salt blued with blue ejector, and other small parts strawed, with Mauser frame hump. Salt blue finish appears original, straw does not appear to be original. At first I thought this might be a transitional piece, but it is not.

    1937 dated S/42 S/n 3271x.
    DE63 DE63 acceptance stamps.
    Two matching magazines with SE63.

    1938 dated S/42 S/n 7289i.
    SE83 SE83 acceptance stamps.
    Two matching magazines with SE83.

    NOTE;

    This is the only 1938 P.08 on the list of pistols recorded with SE83 SE83 acceptance marks.
    Why is that?
    Are people misreading these SE83 markings?

    I agree in your photo the stamps on the pistol look like eights. On the mags however, to me they look kinda like sixes.
    The stamps on my '38 mags more plainly sixes. Interesting that they changed the fonts.

    Dana, I assume you have the gun that belongs with those mags? I have been compiling data on guns with single and double matched mags from auction sites, dealers, the forum etc. A lot of the double matches are ground and re-numbered or altered either one or both to make the pairs. One dealer in particular is responsible for a large number of these. Your mags and the other two pairs in this thread are all good looking legitimate examples. You are also correct, David's mags are DE/63 mags the L/H side of the "8" is flat and the ball of the 6 is touching the loop on the right. JB
