    Jan,
I totally agree that based on the data they both should be SE63 SE63 as they are in the b & c blocks. But in the first photo ( the c block pistol ) the first one appears to be SE83 ! It doesnt makes much sense to me as it would be the only early one 1938 dated to have an SE83 proof ! So I'll go with both having SE63.......

    Hi Jan,
    * Don't know if second-hand data is permissable; but, a recent post by Forum Member "Gunfish" was submitted in the New Collector's Forum. Don't want to steal Dennis' thunder; but, the pictures are pretty clear of his 1937, S42, S/N 2310y, DE63, DE63, MTP.
    * Here is the link: http://www.gunboards.com/luger/topic...archTerms=1938.
    * With about 1480 members still left to be heard from, I thought I'd do a surrogate input to keep the ball rolling.

    Steve
What does it look like to you first hand?
The 8 is well formed in the left acceptance stamp. The right appears to be too washed out to tell. What is the serial number and date of this Luger?
    Thanks
