Here's another for your statistics. I have a BYF 41 serial #8689Q. All matching serial numbers including FXO aluminum bottom magazine, 90+% condition. Wood grips also numbered 89. Eagle 655 twice on right side. It's probably more on the 95% condition but I am conservative in grading.

looking at the first page data, i see that there is a byf 41 with a matching mag at # 82v. is it correct for me to assume that all guns up to then had matching mags? are the reported byf 41 guns prior to 82v with unnumbered black fxo mags just war time or post war replacements?

As a way of saying thank you for all the information I plan to glean from the stickies, archives and different forums, here is the information on my luger for your database:

41 bfy, # 6239q all matching numbers except rear toggle axle (#19), P.08 (round period), eagle/655, eagle/655, eagle holding swastika proofs, Mauser hump, walnut grips (unnumbered but with capital Q on inside of left grip near the top), non-matching aluminum bottomed magazine 122 w/ eagle/37 #5280q+. Very small font on curved portion of right side of frame above trigger (pistol has to be upside down for you to see it and because of curve of frame only top of letters show) is importers mark: VEGA SA CA 9MM GERMAN. I assume this is an importer named Vega from Sacramento California.

Adding a new one to my collection:
41 dated, byf, serial 7812a all matching, walnut grips numbered 12.
Bore gauge/data on the bottom of the barrel.
It was missing the magazine when I bought it.
I assume a black plastic fxo magazine is proper?
