    Jan,

I don't know if you still want the data you asked for 8 years ago, but here are two 1940 Mauser Lugers I own:

    Hello Jan,

    I saw a late Portugese Contract : https://luger.gunboards.com/showthrea...-german-proofs

P.08 42 byf, sn 5280m, E/135 E/135 LTP, Wood Grips, P.08 frame, no bore gauge, E/135 LPT on barrel , mags P.08 fxo and two E/37 with unnumbered aluminum bottom.
Proofed in 1980 adding German Nitro crown on the barrel, on the receiver and on the frame.

New to the site, and to the world of Luger. Been an avid WWII German small arms enthusiast for years. Love the history and appreciate wonderful engineering. About bloody time I got a Luger.

    P.08 byf 41, sn 126s, E/655 E/655, wood, bore gauge 8.82, British proofs. Suncorite.

Not a REAL special piece to some or most, I'm sure, but it's special to me. Suncorite or not. I quite enjoy it.
Any help with exact date of manufacture, and also whether or not my wood bottom mag is even remotely correct, would be wonderful, gentleman.

    Thank you,
    Kevin

DSC00233.jpgHere's the back of the grips. Never have had them off. Looks like dried oil around the edges. I bought this luger from Tom Heller in the late 80's or Early 90's
