"41 40 E655 E655 Walnut grips sn 685" Please check your chamber date and code. It may be a 1940 42 code or a 41 byf.

LTP is a late test proof (See Third Reich Lugers, page 14 and 16.
    Thanks

"41 42 E655 E655 Walnut grips sn 685" Please check your Lugers serial number on the frame. Odds are that it has a letter suffix on the front of the frame below the serial number.

    Jan,
I recently purchased a 42 byf #788d w/ bakelite grips. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want any other information off of the gun.

David, ED - Jan is looking for the year 1940 and 1941 Lugers with codes either "42" or "byf". He is NOT asking or 42 byf data in this thread!!!

BTW 42 byf should have E/135 & E/135 Acceptance Marks (Waffenamt Marks). I haven't seen any 42 byf with other markings (That doesn't mean it doesn't exist)!!!!

I now have 98% 1940, 42code serial 4300i, E/655, E/655, LTP. All matching including the + marked extruded mag with the 122 and the second mag being a blank (not sanded) aluminum bottom FXO with pin also. It has walnut grips. Hope this helps. Just received Third Reich Lugers today, Jan. GREAT reference and am glad it was cellophane wrapped as the driver left it out and the box was drenched! Take care, Dave.
