Jan, My G date is serialed #613b and has the Box proofs of W154 and S 92. Both Mags are numbered 684d and are E/154 proofed. I also wanted to note that the first E in the safety has the bottom bar missing,I noted this on the B suffix pistol in your book also.Best Dave Gill

    I agree with Lugerlou, looks to be an - E -. Normally the - c - and - e - are confused, If it seems difficult to decide than, it's an - E -. The suffix letter - g - is never a problem. Somtimes people confuse a - g - with a - q -. Just remember the - g - has a tail.

    Luger collectors.
In my opinion, it's very important to report the acceptance marks and color of the small parts when reporting G-S/42 serial numbers and suffix letters. This is probably the most important information to most collectors when reporting Lugers with the r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y and z letter suffix.
As for acceptance marks, here is your choices
    1. Drooped Eagle 63 Drooped Eagle 63
    2. Stick Eagle 63 Drooped Eagle 63
maybe Drooped Eagle 63 Stick Eagle 63
this was the transition from the drooped eagle to the straight wing eagle.
    3. Stick Eagle 63 Stick Eagle 63.

As for small parts, blue or straw color.

    Good Luck
